A MYANMAR national who took upskirt photographs of about 20 women with his mobile phone was jailed for 12 weeks on Thursday.
Chit San Maung, 27, pleaded guilty to three counts of intruding into the privacy of women between December last year and January.
He was caught in the act by the husband of a 33-year-old woman at Sun Plaza shopping centre in Sembawang Drive on Jan 11.
He tried to run away but was detained by the couple.
Investigation showed that apart from the upskirt photograph of the victim, Chit’s cellphone had similar shots of two other women at unknown locations on Dec 25 and Dec 13.
Eighteen other similar charges were considered during his sentencing.
Pleading for a light sentence, Chit said he was sorry and would not do it again.
He could have been jailed for up to one year and/or fined on each charge.
